Sandbaggers are expedition and expedition race organisers who specialise in providing top quality experiences in some of the world’s remotest locations. In 2003 we founded Gobi Challenge, an expedition style multi-day ultra race in Mongolia’s Gobi Desert. Such was the success of the inaugural event we have since hosted it annually attracting competitors from all over the world. In our nine years of operating the event Gobi Challenge has firmly established itself as one of the Worlds remotest and most adventurous desert racing events.

While the bulk of our trips are in Mongolia we also work on an annual basis throughout Indonesia, Scotland, North Africa and beyond. Our staff our professionally qualified to operate in temperate, arctic, jungle and desert environments. We have a 100% safety record and a hard earned reputation for running genuine, intimate style expeditions and ultramarathons.

In 2012 we will host Gobi Challenge 2012, a Guided trek across the Gobi Desert for the charity Yamaa Trust and a Cycle across south Gobi Province. We are currently taking applications for all trips.

Gear

Our shop is tailored to those partaking in ultra races and expeditions where high quality, often lightweight, gear is the order of the day.  All our equipment is high quality and you can be assured of getting the right gear for the job whether you are heading to the desert or somewhere closer to home.  Each month we add products based on what our clients want to see, after testing them ourselves of course.

We also design and manufacture our own high quality equipment. Proudly Made in Scotland, our range includes our World famous Sand Gaiters and the newly launched Ultrakilt.
