Sandbaggers are expedition and race organisers who specialise in providing top quality experiences in some of the world’s remotest locations.
In 2003 we founded Gobi Challenge, an expedition style multi-day ultra race in Mongolia’s Gobi Desert. Such was the success of the inaugural event we have since hosted it annually attracting competitors from all over the world. In our seven years of operating the event Gobi Challenge has firmly established itself as one of the Worlds remotest and most adventurous desert racing events.
We also founded and continue to host the UKs foremost and arguably toughest multiday event Scottish Ultra. Our 2009 event saw gruelling conditions and a determined pack of international athletes battling over five days of mountain, forest and coastline .

Gobi Challenge 2009 - Complete!
Congratulations and full respect to those hardy souls who recently tackled the Gobi Challenge and Gobi 100 events in Mongolia. This year saw all our records being smashed and two fantastic events being completed. A full race report will be appearing imminently. We are now taking entries for our 2010 event so please get in touch if you would like to join us.
Eagle Isle Ultra, Scotland, 3 day self-sufficient event
Congratulations to all the hardy participants who turned out to tackle the inaugural Vango Eagle Isle Ultra. Conditions were tough as they battled through mountains, rugged coastal passes and dense forest toward the finish line in Tobermory. Well done and full respect! Ulan Bator to Dalandzadgad cycle, Mongolia 2010
350 miles of off-road cycling which will take participants to the start line of Gobi Challenge 2010. What they do from there is up to them! Dates are 21st to 27th June 2010.
